No, it requires a hard wire. If you have an existing doorbell wired from a chime in your home, it should wire up to that fairly easy using the old doorbells power source. The Ring App walks you thru the process step by step. Installed ours a few weeks ago with little issue.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No--the wired + chime relays totally on having an older doorbell with a 12-24 Volt (I think, read the instructions) transformer. You put a "jumper" on the bell mechanism then check the voltage across the 2 wires that used to go to the doorbell button. Should be around 18-20 volts. It's a very easy install assuming you have an old school doorbell.
