QuestionWhat do you do with the existing doorbell chime located on the wall in your house? Does that box have to be removed? Can I use a wired video doorbell with chime?

- Answer I left the chime box up on the wall. The wired Ring doorbell came with a plug in chime. I bought 2 chimes so we can hear the notifications upstairs and down. The only drawback is i needed to install a voltage converter (transformer) to hook up to the wiring.. They are about $23 on amazon.

- Answer Hi DJEric. Good question. No, the Ring Video Doorbell Wired must be hardwired to an existing doorbell system or transformer with 10–24 VAC, 40 VA max, and 50–60 Hz for continuous charging. While your Ring Video Doorbell Wired will still send Ring and Motion alerts to your mobile device, in order to hear an audible chime with Ring Video Doorbell Wired, you'll need to add a Ring Chime or Ring Chime Pro to your setup. - Answer No, it requires a hard wire. If you have an existing doorbell wired from a chime in your home, it should wire up to that fairly easy using the old doorbells power source. The Ring App walks you thru the process step by step. Installed ours a few weeks ago with little issue.

The Ring Doorbell Wired must be hardwired to a transformer with 10-24 VAC, 20-40VA max, and 50/60Hz. This doorbell can also be powered by the Ring Plug-in Adapter. - Answer The Unit does not come with 15% wedge. I installed mine on Hardie Plank Siding and it is tilted slightly. It still looks great and the tilt is not really noticeable.
