- Answer Yes, attach it outside the house but get ring2, which has 1080 pixel for better resolution then you can talk to them while they're trying to take/steal it and they'll probably leave it alone cause you can see and talk to them. And who wants to be identified while taking it. ispy

- Answer Yes, it can pick up cars going by which ours did. Adjust the length in settings and make it shorter and you’ll be fine. It worked for us.

- Answer I’m not an expert, but I believe if you install it just on battery, it will not ring in your house, just on your phone. Ours is hard-wired to our doorbell so it rings inside if someone actually pushes the button. We have several friends that use theirs with just the battery and are very happy with it. Good luck!

QuestionI presently have a remote door bell and chimes with no wiring. What is needed and can it be installed without tearing walls down to install the Ring? I'm assuming you need a transformer which we do not have. I will also get an opinion from an electrician.

- Answer Wiring into an existing system is optional, as Ring runs on a battery. That being said, you do not need to tear up any walls and a transformer is not needed. All you need are screws to mount it

- Answer You will need to leave the router on while on vacation to allow the Ring product to notify you if someone comes to the door. Insure that your router requires a password for security.

- Answer As long as you hook up the wires according to the ring instructions your doorbell will work. It will also power your ring so the battery never needs to be taken off and charged

- Answer I don’t see why not. Give it a try before buying. Look for Ring in the App Store. You can’t connect until you purchase anyway.

QuestionWhat is the difference in these (Ring, Ring 2, and Ring Pro)? They seem to all have the same description.

- Answer Ring Shows video in 720p resolution. The battery is NOT removable. The process in which you select the sensitivity level is a bit coarse. Ring 2 shows video in 1080p. The field of view is a small bit narrower than the first model. The setting process for sensitivity is more intuitive. The battery is removable. I don’t have enough information on the pro to feel comfortable saying anything about it.

- Answer Just the standard doorbell wire they sell at the hardware store. If you want you dont have to wire it. They have a battery that usually lasts a month. We ended up hardwiring it to not have to deal with charging it.

- Answer I can see my parents ring on both my phones and they can see it on both of theirs and their iPad, There's a setting you can invite as many devices as you wish to receive notifications and to view cam and recordings.
