• It only requires the software to active certain features like the superhuman hearing and etc. other than that you should just be able to connect the usb and have it connect

• Yes it works without downloading the drivers. Depending on where you buy it from you might need the drivers to pair the USB transmitter with the headset, but this issure usually is rare.

• This headset can be used with VOIP programs for calls. With that being said; the headset does make use of ROCCAT Swarm software which can be downloaded from the ROCCAT website.
