• This device will protect your equipment from power surges - it is not a backup power device, that means that when the power goes off everything plugged into this surge protector will also go off. When the power come on again your equipment will not get that first surge either - so your valued electronics remain protected.

• I would not run electronics off a generator with just a power surge protector. I would instead purchase a line conditioning unit such as the Monster or Panamax line conditioners. These will smooth out the dirty power you get from a generator.
