“Will this hold an iphone with case I have a speck case and found other holders that with a protective case it wont fit?”

• So I bought one and the answer is YES for any case. It actually hold the phone better endways. The Jaws open to hold a device from 1 1/2" to 4 3/4" wide. The jaws spread apart 7/8 also to give a larger more stable grip on the side of the device. The Arms do seem a little flimsy when opened to over 4" though.
