Typically the GeekSquad protection plan requires sending the device out to their repair center to be fixed. It's only after it's been sent out numerous times, last I checked , 3 , for the same issue, that they will typically offer an in-store credit for the device. Having said that though, if the manufacture is still repairing the problem that you're having (say like the SD card reader being broken) then that doesn't count toward the 3 repair no-lemon policy, so it would end up being sent back out over and over again until the manufacturer stops their own extended warranty on the problem.
