how would a person go about reseting it null

There is a tiny reset button on the back. You'll need the end of a paper clip or something similar in size to push the button. Soon your Roku logo will start dancing again. You will probably have to re-activate / log into, or even re-install your channels after resetting.

Unplug it plug it back in boom done
