• You do have to sign into a Netflix account and you have to sign up for Roku (create an account) and that requires you to attach a credit card or PayPal account. I don't think there is a way around that.

• Yes you have to pay for a Netflix subscription. Roku does not have any subscription fees. Just buy any Roku device and choose which apps and contents you want for free or with subscription fees.

• Roku doesn't have a subscription price, you just pay for the streaming player, but you would have to pay for the Netflix monthly subscription price once any free trial is up.
