I live in Hemet, CA. 92545. Reception of free to air network channels (ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS) is nearly non-existent. I have Internet service, with WiFi. Will the Roku products provide those channels without a rooftop antenna? Indoor antennas are useless. null

Hi JohnTG, Roku has an app called Sling and this is how I got some of my local channels. check on Sling website for your location.

Yes it will replace your TV provider. There are apps available for all major networks.

local channels are not built in to Roku, but with roku you can sign up with Sling to get the local channels for a fee.

The Roku lets you connect to hundreds of internet channels; this would let you watch Netflix, Hulu, Sling, etc., but not local channels, through your internet service. Check out the channel line up for Hulu and Sling, they have a nominal monthly subscription but will provide the channels you are looking for and will work with the Roku. Please note there are many free channels available and not all are subscription based. 

This will not let you pick up your local channels for free though.
