Yes, you must have internet connection. Plug the stick into HDMI port on back of your tv.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Although the TV doesn't need to be connected to WiFi, you do need a WiFi connection for the ROKU to work, in addition to your cellphone. Your HDMI connection & USB should suffice. But, if there isn't enough power for the USB to function, they included a power transformer for the USB, similar to a cellphone charger.
