“I plan to use with older Samsung flatscreen lcd TV. My tv as 2 hdmi so I’m good there, but instead USB port it has what is called a service port. I plugged in a usb cable to see if it fits and it does. Will this service port work the same as usb?”

Hi, Brian! Roku devices plug in through the HDMI port on your TV. You won't be needing the USB port. The Streaming Stick plugs right into your HDMI port and the USB power cable that comes with it plugs into the Roku Stick and into the power adapter attached to your power outlet.
