It depends on how you define cable. If you mean having a full slate of routine network and cable programming, then no. It does for me because I already have a Spectrum cable box in the house and I simply loaded the Spectrum app to Roku. I get all Spectrum cable channels without the cable box rental. I am not certain if other loadable apps can replace what you are getting with cable now. You will have to research your favorite channels and see what is available.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes and no. If you are switching to exclusively streaming services, then this is a great device for that. If you are not getting rid of cable, one thing this is good with is for use with your secondary TVs where if your cable company charges for a box but they have an app, you can use the Roku to replace that box and save some $$ each month.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, but you can get some free programming with some of the streaming channels on a Roku.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It allows you yo watch some basic TV shows then also connects with any streaming service you subscribe to. So yes, I can get basic news and weather with nothing but my internet connection and then all my streaming services work very well on my non smart tv with this device.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It all depends on what you watch on cable. I've totally done away with it and only need the Roku for my viewing needs, however if you are a sports fan you may want to confirm you will still be able to get your games and see your favorite team.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can certainly use it to get part of the way there. You will still need to subscribe to streaming for some items and this can cost more than cable TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
