If I understand your question, Netgear is your cable's modem/router? Netgear also makes modem/routers for DSL internet connections too. If your question is about a cable modem/router then I can answer that since I have this same kind of modem/router that all my devices retrieve the wifi signal from. This includes Roku. As to your question about Vista, this is your version of Windows. It is an older version of Windows that many people didn't like back in the day and still do not like because of problems with its interaction with other Window's based software. However, even Window's Vista can access the internet (Internet Explorer) which is all you need to be able to set up your Roku account. YouTube is a free channel on Roku.
