Roku will send you a free extender by request. Just enter the Serial Number with your request to verified you purchased a Roku Stick. It should arrive in 2 to 3 days.

This may mean either your Roku doesn't pick-up/connect to internet or your Movie/TV shows lag or freeze when streaming. A wifi extender will extend the internet signal, which translates to a stronger wifi signal near your Roku, One option is to move the wifi router to a more centralized area in the house or buy a stronger wifi router. Personally I didn't like my wifi range extender. It helped but was still laggy. I ended up using Ethernet over Powerline https://www.bestbuy.com/site/netgear-powerline-ac1200-gigabit-ethernet-adapter-2-pack-white/4002029.p?skuId=4002029 to bring an ethernet line in my area, and used an old router (which I changed the settings to be an access point) which gave me a better signal in my weak wifi area.
