“Will using the roku on my LG tv connected to spectrum cable without the cable box attached allow me to get cable channels in full picture? I don’t want to increase my cable bill by using their cable box like I have on my other tv. Both are smart TVs.”

There are several models of Roku available. The Roku Streaming Stick or higher models will self detect the screen resolution of your TV. If you are referring to channel lineup, most of the channels you receive via cable box will appear on the Roku. Ensure that your wi-fi to the Roku has a strong connection for best results.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You only need internet to work a Roku. Remember that you're streaming video like on a computer and not flipping through channels on cable. If you want the channels you currently watch, choose services that gives you that. For example: I cancelled our comcast but kept the xfinity wifi, which I had to keep the modem in order to get WiFi, that is, until I buy my own modem. I already was a subscriber of HBO, Starz, Prime Video and Netflix with cable, so when I cancelled cable, I needed live streaming. I tried Hulu live, directv now, you tube tv and sling tv. Each streaming service gives you a free week to get acqainted with there service. I chose sling for how our family watch tv. Also remember that there are apps on roku that offer free movies without a subscription like crackle sony, roku channel, free flix etc. And there are also apps for live tv like Pluto. Don't forget that an antenna offers great OTA hd channels for free! (I like the flat ones) Options are endless. We save 80 percent than before.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes I use mine for cable box it is a little different as far as changing channels. But not hard to get use to. That being said you do have to have a spectrum modem and their internet for it to work like a cable box.
