I have an old Sony Bravia (8 years old), that runs just fine with the RokuUltra connected via HDMI. Can access AmazonPrime, Hulu, Netflix and various other apps without any issues. AmazonPrime made a change recently in terms of which devices can use their apps (I think Google used to but can't now). The link to see which devices can use the AmazonPrime app is here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=dv_watchanywheredm?&docId=1001423601

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't see why you wouldn't be able to watch Amazon Prime. Through this Roku Ultra I watch Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and etc. You just needed to download the Roku app you want to watch once you set up your Roku. Some apps of coarse will cost you a monthly subscription. If you already have service subscription through your phone or other device you should have no problem using it in Roku. I love my Roku Ultra and have saved hundreds of dollars by cutting the cord on cable and Dish service. I've had Roku devices for about 3 years and wouldn't ever go back to paying cable or dish service. Hope this helps! Enjoy!
