“I just purchased ultra roku and when my husband went to set up a phone number came up to call. They wanted a $59.95 one time set up fee? Has anyone else had this happen and is it legit? Didn't do it but would like to know. Thanks.”

I recently installed a new Roku Ultra, and had no similar experience. To my knowledge, the only other charges would be associated with providers such as Netflix, SlingTV, etc. I had no setup fee.

No its not legit. no fee to activate roku, just a code to enter on their website.

I've connected 2 in my home and one at my brothers home the Roku is free of charge to connect. Some channels require a monthly fee. However you can create a great set up thru free channels and an Amazon account!

Anne, I set up my Roku Ultra without every being referred to a telephone number. I did have to upgrade on Netflix to their 4K tier - about $2 more per month.

I had no issues setting my ULTA up. No fees. I am paying for Sling TV because I want HGTV (getting more than just that) but don't want cable. I don't know why Roku is asking for a fee.
