• A:Answer Yes, the SmartShade (wired/plugged) version will required to be plugged into an outlet in order to receive power for usage. However, for customers who prefer to go wire-free, the BatteryPack add-on can be purchased for a more seamless experience. The BatteryPack is rechargeable and can power the SmartShade for up to 6 months on a single charge.
