• No! It covers the screen so there is no issues with butt dialing and puts it into a covered "sleep mode when closed. However; the front flap is fairly thin and and just folds over. There is not true hinge or closing mechanism so if you set it down, make sure to hit the phone lock button or the flap will pop up slightly ajar and the active screen will remain open until it locks from inactivity.

• If you open it back up immediately it will not lock it but if you leave it closed more than a few seconds it's locked when you open it

• Yes it does lock your screen and when you flip to cover open it turns on the screen
