Not going to do much to protect the phone. Very light case.
All you have is a view of the time and any notifications you have received. If you select a notification. Says cover has to be opened to view notifications.

Provides some protection if dropped but this case wouldn't be my first choice if I was prone to drop my phone. But for day to day carry and thoughtful handling this case is awesome. 

From what I can tell, you cannot us to the camera with the case closed.

Not shock proof but covers phone screen when closed. And you can use rear camera when closed. Just not front camera unless opened. 8 live it since I use it as clock on nite stand. Can see time and notifications with case closed. Can also respond to alarms and decline calls with case closed.

There's minimal protection for the phone. It's not particularly designed for protection. 
From my experience with this product, I don't think the camera can be used when the case is closed.

Looks like it will protect the phone when dropped. Unfortunately, you'll need to open the case to use the camera.

I don't think this case will provide much drop protection.

You can fold the case cover back and use the front facing camera. To use the rear facing camera you have to hold the cover open, which means a two handed operation. It can be managed that way or you can take the case off temporarily during a one handed photo shoot.
