“Does this case have a front and back? If so are they identical?”

• Yes, it does. Yes the front and back are the same. Though that is not what is pictured on the item. The pattern is not as pretty as the picture. More blue and the gold is not as pretty as the pictures shown. The part the iPad snaps into is black plastic.
