“I have tried to get the kickstand down and it just doesn't want to budge. I have pressed the tab several times and no luck,even a sales person couldn't do it. Am I missing something here?? This is my second one.”

It's just very stiff. This method works for me. Lay the tablet face down on a smooth surface. Pushing on the tab that locks the leg in place with a pen or pencil, while lifting and moving the leg to its original position.
