“I have a coffee maker here in US that works on 120 V and 1500 watts. I will go to country that only provide 220 V electricity, will this device work there so I can use the coffee maker without burning it.”

Pushing your luck with that - if it has to stay on at 1500W for an extended period, the converter will get really hot...
