Thanks for the question. The SMH1816 and SMH9187 do use the same rear (wall) mounting template and bracket. However, the top (cabinet) mounting template is different, which may mean a different placement pattern for the upper bolts that help to hold the microwave in place, or a different cutout for the venting if you install it to exhaust externally through the top. - Ms. Samsung
