“Can this vent upwards thru the top cabinet?”

• Yes, you can install the ME18H704SFS so it vents externally through the top or rear of the unit, or it can recirculate filtered air back into the room through the hidden vent. Thanks for your interest, Ms. Samsung

• Yes it can. Manual has instructions for venting upwards. This must only be done if there's a vent in cabinet connecting to the outside of house. No connection in my cabinet leading outside, & my microwave came ready for venting through cabinet & outside, so had to adjust blower to vent inwards as per manual.
