Q: QuestionDoes Samsung over the range microwave model# ME18H704SFG have a grease filter or a charcoal filter?

• A:Answer Possibly both. A charcoal filter goes in the ventilation area in the top of the microwave, and it is supposed to be replaced intermittently through the front, after opening the door.The underside of it has a filter in the fan intake, but I'm not sure if is just a standard filter or specifically meant for grease. I've attached a picture of the underside. I did not take a picture of the charcoal filter in the top because I have to unscrew a front cover piece.

• A:Answer According to the user manual YES it does. VENT BUTTONS (4 SPEED & ON/OFF) The vent removes steam and other vapors from the cooking surface. You can manually select the vent setting. 1. Press the Vent 4 Speed button to set the speed level. 2. Press the Vent On/Off button to turn the vent on. 3. Press the Vent On/Off button again to turn the vent off. The exhaust fan’s speed will reduce when the oven’s cooking function is activated.

• A:Answer Yes and no. I don't know why but all the Microwaves specs alls ay 30 inches. I measured the space from left to right over my stove and it came out to around 36 inches. I searched and couldn't find the elusive 36 inch Microwave. I bought a regular 30" one and expected to have a gap. I had it installed and amazingly enough there is no gap. I can't figure it out. I'd take a tape measure and measure the space for the MicroWave, than go to the store and measure the actual MicroWave. Maybe it will fit.

• A:Answer Probably not...it is designed to be mounted from the rear and top, the bottom is not flat and both the vent and external light are on the bottom. Besides, a standard, counter top type microwave that would fit in a "built in" space would be much cheaper.
