  • QuestionDOES ANYONE KNOW IF SAMSUNG WILL OVER A TRIM KIT TO ALLOW THE PURCHASER TO BUY 2 UNITS? ONE BEING A REFRIGERATOR AND ONE BEING A FREEZER WHICH WILL ALLOW PLACING THEM TOGETHER TO LOOK LIKE ONE UNIT.

    Asked by HARPT.

    • Answer I was thinking two would be great side-by-side also. But, given the manual states there must be 2 inches of clearance at the back and at the sides, you wouldn't be able to place them directly against each other. But I suppose you could design a kit that would allow the proper spacing but still provide a good look.

  • Questionis it auto defrost?

    Asked by Snorkle.

    • Answer Hi there, No, this freezer is intended for manual defrosting. Here are the clear steps for defrosting the unit. 1) During normal operation, press the Fridge Key + Power Freeze buttons at the same time for 6 seconds. Then, the entire The display Panel will blink at intervals of 0.5 seconds for 4 seconds. 2) Before this 4-second blinking time finishes, release the Fridge + Power Freezer + Power Freezer or Temp + Power Freezer buttons and press the Power Cool or Power Freezer button. Then, the entire Display Panel goes off and the Test mode ( Forced Operation / Defrost Mode) starts. 3) Each time the Test button is pressed, the Test function changes in the sequence of Forced Operation (FF) → Forced Defrost (Fd) → Cancellation (Normal Operation). To cancel the Test function during the Test mode, it is recommended to turn off the power and turn it on again. • Questionhow many amps does this use normal running and how many amps on start up ??

    Asked by skippy.

    • Answer It draws over 3 Amps, running, due to auto-defrost (heat elements melt ice). Uses over 400 Watts when running (a manual defrost uses less than half that). The Start-spike would be around 800++ Watts (maybe lots more) for a split second, before dropping to run-watts.
