A:Answerthe RS is Real Stainless steel and the PN is the matte stainless look. The PN is magnetic whereas the RS is not. Most stainless steel appliances will not display magnets. The PN is also more matte and does not show as many fingerprints. It looks cleaner and is cheaper than its stainless steel counterpart.
A:AnswerThis is a platinum unit... it is a stainless "look", but is not stainless. Best Buy does not carry the stainless version, but other Big-Box warehouses do, if you look around.
A:AnswerThe RF217ACPN is 32-1/4" wide, and Samsung recommends leaving about 1" on either side, as well as 2" above and behind the refrigerator to allow sufficient air flow for the cooling system to work properly and most efficiently. Since the door is opening into a wall, you would really need 3-3/4" on that side for the handles to clear so the door could open at least 90-degrees and provide unobstructed access to the crisper drawer.
Thank you for considering Samsung,
Ms. Samsung
A:AnswerThe RF217ACBP measures 32-1/4" wide by 68-5/8" high without hinges (69-3/4" with hinges) by 30-1/4" deep without handles. The case depth is 26-1/4" and the depth with the handles is 32-1/2".

A:AnswerThank you for the question. Samsung does not recommend removing the icemaker from the RF217ACWP; doing so would likely effect your warranty. If you'd like to operate the refrigerator without the icemaker and water line connection, simply press the Ice Off button on the control panel. The ice container can be moved or used to store other items; the icemaker itself takes up very little room since it suspends from the ceiling of the freezer compartment.

A:AnswerThe positions of the top and bottom shelves of the RF217ACPN are fixed, but the middle shelf has three possible positions.
Thank you for the question!

A:AnswerSee my review. The shelves are close together and can't be ajusted. I removed the middle one so that I could have room from milk, juice and other tall containers. That leaves me with less shelf space. There is room in the door for milk but I needed more space for the tall items.
Hope this helps.
A:AnswerYes, the RF217ACWP has two storage areas within the freezer compartment: the main storage bin in the bottom, and a pull-out upper freezer drawer.
Thank you for the question!
Ms. Samsung
A:AnswerThe RF217ACPN is 48-1/2" deep from the back of the unit to the front of the handle with the freezer drawer fully extended.
Thanks for the question!

A:AnswerThe RF217ACPN/XAA is merely an internal inventory code; this model actually is the RF217ACPN...there is no difference. What you're probably seeing are subtle differences between the websites due to rounding (20 cubic feet is simply 19.8 rounded up) and semantics (digital vs. electric). The RF217ACPN's capacity is 19.8 cubic feet, and this unit features digital temperature controls, Samsung's signature Twin Cooling System to help keep food fresh longer, EZ Open Freezer Drawer Handle, an automatic icemaker in the freezer, and LED lighting.
I hope this helps to clarify!

A:AnswerIt's fine to install the RF217 without a water line connection. Be sure to turn the icemaker off by pressing the Ice Off button on the control panel so the fridge doesn't try to draw water to make ice.

A:AnswerYes, the black finish does leave prints (haven't found one that doesn't). However, easy to clean...I use just soap & water, no special chemicals or anything. It will scratch easy, so beware the use of magnets or such on the front of the refrigerator.
A:AnswerThere are several differences between real stainless steel, which is a metal alloy, and Samsung's Stainless Platinum, which is actually a painted surface not unlike the black or white finishes. The key difference that many people note is that real stainless steel is not magnetic, so if you like to hang photos and kids' artwork on your refrigerator, you might want to choose our "Stainless Platinum" finish because it is magnetic. Also, Stainless Platinum is fingerprint-resistant and very easy to care for.

A:Answer2 separate compartments in freezer. The one with ice(top drawer) has a large ice container. It is mostly all enclosed, but there is a narrow 4' gap that is cut out in the rear where ice maker sits that has to be there due to freezer pulling out. I don't think there is much of an issue with ice falling thru that gap in the back as there is a automatic sensor that shuts the icemaker off when too much ice is building up.
A:AnswerThanks for the question. The French Doors on Samsung's RF217ACBP operate independently, so it doesn't matter which one is closed first.
