• Hi Boni7, Your Samsung HW-S40T Soundbar is not compatible with the SWA-W500 Subwoofer. The SWA-W500 is compatible with the following soundbars models: HW-S60T, HW-S66T, HW-S61T, and HW-S67T. ^Patty

• Sorry, was unable to connect mine to TV. Apparently my TV is a couple of years to old. Had to return the soundbar. Good luck...
