“I have the Samsung 700 series and purchased this sound bar to work with it. I connected it via HDMI (ARC) as directed (ARC In on TV, OUT on Soundbar), but the soundbar does not display ARC as an option and sound was only coming from the TV speaker.”

Check your connections. You should be going out of the TV to the sound bar. Then you have to go into TV menu and select sound settings with the sounder on. In there it show up as a line item to select from. Doing this mine connected right up.
