Q: When using a sound bar will the sound still come out of the back of the tv?
A: I have Samsung tv. When you plug in soundbar, no sound from TV.
Q: Can on/off and volume be controlled with DirecTV remote?
A: I've been trying to pair it with our spectrum remote, volume works turning it down, but turning it up is a bust and turns up the actual tv creating a not so nice echo.
A: Yes, this unit has an HDMI input and output.
A: Specifically bought this soundbar so that my Samsung TV's remote would also control it. Hooked up via the optical cable and my TV's remote controls turning on/off the soundbar and the volume. I have a Sony BD player hooked up to the TV & its Sony remote also turns all on/off and volume up/down, so your cable/satellite remote should work fine.

A: yes , it would & it is also very clear in tones
Q: does this come with a subwoofer
A: No that’s the good thing about it. I put my in my bedroom. Don’t have room for a sub woofer. It works great without one
A: This soundbar can be connected to a TV via Bluetooth. I have mine connected that way to a Samsung TV. My soundbar is about 2 feet away from my TV, however I also use the sound bar to play music from my phone which is more than 10 feet away at times.
