Yes' you will need to run an audio cable from your TV or source device to the soundbar.

I actually recommend using the included fiber optic cable, and save the Bluetooth setting for connecting w ur phone or tablet. Connecting via fiber optics also sends a signal to turn it on and off with ur tv

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a brand new 49 inch Toshiba 4K HD tv that is not blue tooth and I used the included optical cable which my tv has an input for and it works great. So the answer is yes. I believe you can also use USB to USB if tv has that ability.

Of course as you mentioned, Bluetooth as well which works great when you want to connect to one of your mobile devices and listen to some music.
