The ME21F707MJT can be set up to vent externally through the top or back of the unit, or filtered air can be recirculated back into the room through the hidden vent in the top front of the Microwave. Thanks for your interest, Ms. Samsung

It comes with a flapper if you do not have one installed in the wall and other than that i do not think you need anything else, if you already have a vent in place.
