• This laptop is easily powerful enough for the Sims. I play Call of Duty on mine with no lag.

• I've played some non-intensive games that run just as well on this as my desktop with a discrete card.

• I am not sure about the sims specifically, but It can definitely play games. I have played simple games like terraria, a little more demanding games like starbound, and even project cars (single player in the rain), all with playable FPS. Don't expect to max the graphics in any game, because this isn't a gaming laptop, but it can most certainly play games.
