Correct, there is no machine-sensor that alerts you so you just need to turn on and off as needed. When switched back on to make ice, it can take up to 24 hours to start producing cubes.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi there Tangledmind! It may be difficult to see, but the ice maker does have an arm that triggers the ice maker to stop when the bucket is full. The ice on/off button is for if you would prefer not to have ice produced for a time. ^Jecca
