Regarding your concern, after about 6 months of using the original water filter (which typically amounts to about 320 gallons (1200 liters) of water), the Filter indicator blinks red to remind you that the filter needs to be replaced. When this happens, replace the filter, and then press and hold Crushed Ice for 3 seconds. This resets the filter lifecycle detector and turns off the Filter indicator. I suggest you check this link to your user manual for assistance.
