• I think you can use either one. The guide strongly advocates the use of Quantum tabs. I have been using them and have been very pleased with the results.

• Thanks for the question. Samsung recommends using either a powder or gel type dishwasher detergent along with a rinse aid for best performance. - Ms. Samsung
