“How do I know if the ice maker is on? The manual is not clear to me on this. When I push the Ice Off button, I hear an ascending chime, and an icon illuminates. When I push the Ice Off button again, I hear a descending chime, and the icon extinguishes. Which state (icon lit or off) indicates that the ice maker is on? Thanks!”

I had similar issues wondering if was working.If the icon is lit its off.The ice maker is somewhat slow.There is a test button the very bottom of it if you want to test it.

When the Ice Off icon is illuminated, the ice maker is off; when the icon is dark, the ice maker is on. Thanks for the question! Ms. Samsung

The descending chime means it will make ice. Also, the little icon that looks like a half-filled cup should be unlit when the ice maker is on. If it appears, then the ice maker is in the OFF position.
