“How do I know if the ice maker is on? The manual is not clear to me on this. When I push the Ice Off button, I hear an ascending chime, and an icon illuminates. When I push the Ice Off button again, I hear a descending chime, and the icon extinguishes. Which state (icon lit or off) indicates that the ice maker is on? Thanks!”

• I had similar issues wondering if was working.If the icon is lit its off.The ice maker is somewhat slow.There is a test button the very bottom of it if you want to test it.

• When the Ice Off icon is illuminated, the ice maker is off; when the icon is dark, the ice maker is on. Thanks for the question! Ms. Samsung

• The descending chime means it will make ice. Also, the little icon that looks like a half-filled cup should be unlit when the ice maker is on. If it appears, then the ice maker is in the OFF position.
