Not sure about the platinum/slate question, but the freezer bins are solid.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The freezer bins are mostly solid--that was a selling point for us. I was afraid that the wire racks would allow the inevitable crumbs to sit on the bottom of the freezer and be difficult to remove. The Samsung 260 bins are molded plastic with solid bottoms (there are two drawers, one on top the other that slides back to reveal the lower drawer).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The freezer bins are solid plastic with many "slits" for air circulation. Top shelf with ice. Moveable separator in bottom area
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Thanks for the question. Samsung's Stainless Platinum is a fingerprint-resistant, magnetic finish that's color-matched to look like stainless steel. Since Samsung doesn't have appliances available in "slate" I can't speak to the characteristics of that finish. The freezer bins in the RF260BEAESR and most Samsung models are solid molded plastic, not wire. - Ms. Samsung
