“I have read that there are problems with the drain icing up so that water overflows onto the floor and it’s very difficult to rectify the problem (unplugging refrigerator, soaking up all the water, etc). Has this problem been fixed? Thank you!”

It hasn't been fixed. I have had my RF261BEAES for approximately 6 months and it started overflowing as well.
