Yes, you will need to connect a water line.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It doesnt have a resorvoir. It just has the piping to carry to water from your water source, a filter, and a little electric valve. And yes it has to be hooked up to a water pipe. There are kits that you can purchase that are usually called ice maker water line kits because they provide water to the ice maker also. They usually connect to the cold water pipe that feeds your kitchen sink, unless you have a dedicated fridge water source behind your fridge like my house does.
