The installer told me yes I did, but when I followed the instructions provided with the filter(bought directly from Samsung) it did not indicate to turn off the water. All I did was pulled out the old and put in the new.

Please try again later.Hello Bosch, we recommend turning the water off to the refrigerator when changing the water filter to release the water pressure, which makes the process easier.
