  • QuestionDoes it have a quick recovery ice system and how much ice can be made per hour

    Asked by Kimmy.

    • Answer The ice maker compartment has started frosting up and freezing everything up to the point where it can't dump the ice cubes. Samsung, of course, wants to send a technician to look at it for $150. All this right after the warranty expires. They say the only way to clear the problem is to defrost the entire refrigerator. If I did that, my refrigerator would be unplugged more than it is plugged in. They also say don't use a hair dryer to try to defrost it (that will probably damage one of the circuit boards). They also tell you to distribute the things in your refrigerator for better air circulation. The ice maker is self-contained in the refrigerator part, not the freezer, and there's no place for the air to circulate in the ice maker. Talked to a local appliance repair store, and they said that there are all sorts of circuit boards in the ice maker itself that can go bad and cause it to frost/freeze up. It will defrost to the point of melting the ice, and then freeze up again causing all the water/ice in it to freeze and jam. I have to take an ice pick and fork every couple of days and chip away the small pieces before it becomes a major problem. The circuit boards are about $80 each. The auger that pulls the ice to the front is also too small for the size of the ice cubes. That's why it is so sluggish about dispensing ice. No more Samsung products for me. Their service is terrible, and all they want to do is make more money off of the repair of a $3000 refrigerator. Spend your money elsewhere.

  • QuestionWhat is the difference between this model and the model RF28K9070SG?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer The 9380 SG has what is called the "Showcase". You can open up the top right front door partially to get to the items in the door without opening the whole refrigerator. We keep Milk, juice and 2 liter soda bottles there to access quickly. The other model does not offer that feature.

  • QuestionThe interior glass shelves appear to be split down the middle. Can they be moved independently, with one side of the glass shelf on one level and the other side of the shelf on another level?

    Asked by Lou.

    • Answer Yes they can. We had a lot of tall beverages and the slide back part was not large enough to accommodate them . We moved the right side up so we could fit all the tall containers on the bottom shelf. That left us with one skinny shelf that I use to store tortillas and lunch meat.

  • QuestionDoes the Diepenser tray have a removable tray to be able to remove and clean, or is it just the built in tray under the ice and water dispenser?

    Asked by auart.

    • Answer There is no tray in the door where the water dispenser is. It is just molded into the door and easier to clean than a tray with slats -- no place for mold or dirt to hide.

  • QuestionWhat is "Food ShowCase"?

    Asked by Shirl.

    • Answer Great question, Shirl! The ShowCase door is a unique two-part door on some model refrigerators. You can open either the ShowCase part of the door to reach items in the door bins, or you can open the whole door to reach other items inside the refrigerator. ^Jecca

  • QuestionMy space for a refrigerator to fit is standard at 70.5". How come Samsung standard size for these 4-door side by side refrigerators is around 71"? How is it able to fit in my standard slot

    Asked by Runnergirl.

    • Answer Hi there, We are here to provide the information that you need for your fridge. Samsung refrigerator models (standard depth, counter depth, or narrow width) have different dimensions and this particular model is 35 3/4" W x 70 3/4" H x 29 3/8" D without doors and hinges, and 35 3/4" W x 71 7/8" H x 34 1/4" D with door and hinges attached. You either look for a refrigerator that fits your dimensions or seek assistance from an installer to adjust your space to accommodate bigger refrigerator models. ^Rodel
