• Yes, it has the metal plate (speciically this model) on the tray. Not only it looks neat and beautiful - should help retaining the chill as the manufature suggests.

• I have the fridge (it's great, by the way), but I don't think so. It advertises metal cooling pretty well inside the main compartment, but I haven't seen it listed in the flex zone drawer.
