Purchase the Geek Squad Extended Warranty? Have any purchasers experienced issues with this refrigerator that would require the Geek Squad warranty?

My fridge hasn't had any issues that would require the use of the warranty. But I did purchase the warranty to hedge my bets.

I got it because I've had problems with other purchase, but none with this one so far. Even a great product can have an issue, though.

I would highly recommends the extended warranty. The reason being that almost all of the new refrigerators are "closed system" and are very difficult to service. I had a 5 years old Frigidaire that the compressor started to failed. Most local company wouldn't fix a "closed system" and the one that were willing to repair it quoted me $800 - $1,200 for a new compressor. Also in the 5 years that I had the Frigidaire I had to replace the ice maker twice. The cost of replacing the icemakers were more than the cost of the extended warranty so I went I bought this Samsung refrigerator I also bought the 5 years extended warranty.

Although Best Buys Extended Warranty is now 3 years, not 5, we specifically asked them if at the end of the 3 years are we able to purchase another (3 year) extended warranty and we were told "Of course". Don't let the 3 years stop you from buying it, with the technology now days, extended warranties are worth the price.

After best buy ended 5 year extended warranty plans and now only offer 3 years, you would be better off buying it from another place that has a 5 year warranty service plans.
