“What is the purpose of the flex drawer? Is it to freeeze, or to chill? I don't understand its use. Also, does this unit get an ice buildup in the bottom of the refrigerator - our current Samsung French door (w/o the flex drawer) does.”

We use the flex drawer for our beverages (beer). It is perfect for that. We have had ours for a few weeks now and no frost build up yet. If that changes I will edit this post.
