There is a little screw that needs to be loosened and then all you did is push up (or left for the horizontal freezer handle). The fridge came with an allen key that fits the screw.

In general, there are screws at the ends of each door handle. These screws will need to be removed for the handles to come off. I have shared this model's user manual link below. Please turn to pages 28 - 30 for a visual guide.
