“It states that this fridge has two compressors and three evaporators. Does that mean each side (fridge/Freezer) has it's own compressor? If the freezer breaks down, the fridge keeps working fine?”

Yes, that is correct. Our first Samsung refrigerator had four doors and two compressors. One compressor failed but we were able to use the two other sections. This worked out well since it took a week for a service guy to come out.
